Oh boy!! It’s British Grand Prix

Be ready for one of the most renowned races of the FIA Formula 1 world championship, because it is coming here in June!! Again Silverstone circuit will host the event this year as well. After Lewis Hamilton took the accolade last year, BGP is now the hottest thing in Britain. The final dates of the event are from 19-21 June 2009.

This race will have 60 laps, with 5.141 km of each lap and with a race distance of around 308.355 km.
Jim Clarke has the maximum number of wins, with an astonishing number of 5 races, who is a British as well.  While, M. Schumacher holds the fastest lap record of 1:18:739. It is an honor for the drivers to win at Silverstone. Ferrari has the most numbers of wins and is therefore the most popular constructor in the racing business!!

Lewis Hamilton is the strongest contender at the Silverstone racing track

Lewis Hamilton who won the BGP last year, is a British formula one racer and is currently racing for McLaren-Mercedes. He is the youngest Formula One racer. Hamilton was awarded an MBE by the Queen this year. He is at present dating the PCD queen, Nicole Scherzinger.
The race which started back in 1923 has mostly been hosted at the Silverstone circuit, and after it was modified in 1991, it is one of the fastest tracks of the F1 races. However there have been some disputes over the time on this circuit, like the one in 2003 which was between the Silverstone’s owners and the Formula One authorities.

This year would the last year for Silverstone to host the British Grand Prix, and it is regarded that this circuit was the best circuit of the BGP. From next year on it will be held at the Donington Park. However, it is mentioned by the Formula One representatives that Donington Park would not be ready till the BGP 2010 due to some legal proceedings left and therefore BGP might skip a year!!
